What Is the Autonomic Nervous System?
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) controls everything that happens in the body without us consciously thinking about it: heartbeat, breathing, digestion, immune response, sleep-wake cycles. It runs in the background \u2013 constantly, reliably, and mostly unnoticed.
